The Viola Rose Holbrook collection contains an audiocassette recording and a transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Josephine Carpenter and Holbrook in 1979. In the interview, Holbrook discussed her recollections of growing up in Rapidan, Minnesota and the educational conditions of students and teachers in the years after World War II and her experience teaching at Mankato State University. When discussing education, Holbrook recalled her experiences as a student teacher, with classroom management and discipline, and in physical education.
